October 18, 2016 – Parsons has been awarded a three-year contract by the Michigan Department of Transportation to provide structural services for the Michigan-owned portion of the Blue Water Bridge. The Blue Water Bridge crosses the St. Clair River connecting Routes I-94/I-69 in Port Huron, Mich., with Highway Route 402 in Point Edward, Ont. This twin-span international bridge serves as a gateway linking Canada and the United States and is the second busiest crossing between the two countries.

“Parsons is excited to continue our work on the Blue Water Bridge,” said Michael Johnson, Parsons Group president. “We began work on this bridge in 2012, performing annual inspections. Our continued work on the Blue Water Bridge is a testament to our commitment to delivering high-quality solutions to the Michigan Department of Transportation.”

The three-year contract covers structural engineering, inspection, structural design, emergency repair consultation, general studies and reports, and as-needed engineering services for the Blue Water Bridge, approach bridges, and mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls.
