Ontario announces Highway 69 funding

June 22, 2015 – Ontario is providing $19.4 million for the expansion of Highway 69 from Parry Sound to Sudbury.

According to the Parry Sound North Star, the project has received the funding after Transportation Minister Steven Del Duca had announced in March that the project would be delayed, citing complications with negotiations with First Nations difficulties with the landscape.

Work will begin this summer on three new bridges at Highway 522 near Henvey Inlet. The construction work is being done to facilitate the creation of an interchange at Highway 69 and Highway 522.
