Highway penetrators in Edmonton examined

February 8, 2016  By  Andrew Macklin

February 8, 2016 – The City of Edmonton is taking a closer at who should carry the financial weight of highway penetrators when new subdivisions are built around them.

According to an article from the Edmonton Sun, Edmonton council has been presented with options for potential costs for developers in both leaving land for expansion of penetrators when new communities are built, as well as the road construction itself.

So while a cost-share is seen as fair, placing all of the costs on the new residential areas is not in the eyes of the developers.
