Doosan to sell machine tools division?

December 14, 2015 – Multiple sources are suggesting that Doosan Infracore is set to sell its machine tools division to the highest bidder.

According to separate articles in the Korea Times and the Korea Economic Daily, Doosan Infracore put the profitable division up for sale in November following a third quarter net loss of more than 200 billion won (approx. $230 million Cdn.).

Several parties have shown interest in purchasing the division, including KKR & Co. LP, Carlyle Group LP and MBK Partners.

It is expected that the sale could generate as much as two trillion won (approx. $2.3 billion Cdn.)
