Nova Scotia to spend $325 million on roads in 2009

September 24, 2009 - A few sentences in the first budget by Nova Scotia’s NDP government may give some cheer to provincial roadbuilders.

According to N.S. Finance Minister Graham Steele, “We plan to spend $796 million to build and repair roads and bridges, schools and health-care facilities, housing and more. The province is scheduled to spend $325 million on highway construction and major maintenance projects this year, surpassing last year's amount by over $140 million and making this year's highway improvement plan one of the largest in the province's history”.
