Superior Aggregates secures licence
July 24, 2009 - The Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) has approved the application of Superior Aggregates Co., to open a granite quarry at Michipicoten Bay near Wawa on Lake Superior. Company representatives have indicated that about half of the new quarry’s granite products will be sold into Ontario market, including the GTA, with the balance going to U.S. markets.

The favourable ruling in the OMB’s 72-page report ends seven years of controversy for Superior Aggregates and directs the Ministry of Natural Resources to issue an Aggregate Resource Licence to the company.
