Titan Trailers moves to new facility
Written by
22bTitan Trailers Inc. has relocated its R&D operations, Quality Control, Final Finish and training departments to a new 3437 m2 facility in Delhi, Ont.

The new building features 20 bays and three loading docks. Two of the bays are dedicated for use by the company’s research and development engineering team. According to Titan Trailer’s president and founder Mike Kloepfer, “this gives the team a constant in-process view of their work before it goes out the door. They also get to work directly with the Final Finish members ensuring that the features designed into the trailers work as they were intended to.”

Kloepfer says the facility was designed and built from the ground up as an employee-friendly green building with a special emphasis on providing as much natural light as possible in the working areas. One of the ways this was achieved, he explains, is the see-through, energy-efficient overhead doors that were positioned with a southern expo- sure. Light sensors are strategically located to monitor the overall brightness inside the building. The sensors activate and deactivate low energy lights to maintain a consistent level of brightness.

While a green building is a sound investment in tomorrow, it is still an investment and requires a proper return on that investment. According to Kloepfer, expectations are that this recent expansion will increase productivity capability by over 30 per cent. “By streamlining the operation and facilitating the manufacturing process, our efficiency will rise.”
