Doosan DA40 ADT takes on all terrain

Nov. 23, 2011 — Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment has launched its DA40 articulated dump truck, which offers increased engine power and torque, higher payloads, lower fuel consumption, enhanced operator comfort and faster travel speeds.

The agile undercarriage, designed to ensure all six wheels are in permanent contact with the ground, means Doosan ADTs can operate on both very rough and very soft terrain. Its permanent six-wheel drive gives equal power distribution, and the free-swinging rear tandem bogie and special articulation system are ideal in difficult terrain.

Powered by a six-cylinder interim Tier 4 compliant diesel engine with a gross power output of 500 horsepower at 2,100 rpm, the DA40 offers a 10% increase in engine power compared to the previous MT41 model. It offers a 22% increase in gross torque to 1750 lb.-ft. at 1,300 rpm.

Also in the mix are efficient fuel consumption and a higher top speed of 36 mph. The DA40 has an increased body capacity of 31.9 cubic yards, and payload has been boosted to 40 metric tons without tailgate.

A new, spacious cab provides better visibility for the operator and low noise levels, while new electronic systems and simplified fingertip controls with a digital display make operation easier.
