Trimble software gives 'complete picture'
Written by Aggregates & Roadbuilding

Nov. 15, 2011 – Trimble has released a new version of its heavy and highway construction office software for data management, data preparation and materials quantities takeoff. Business Center – HCE 2.50 features new road takeoff, data preparation, earthworks planning functionality and a new Corridor Mass Haul module. In addition, estimators can realize increased efficiencies with the software when importing Adobe PDF vector files or CAD cross-section files.

Corridor Mass Haul combines the corridor design with a haul route network, barriers to haulage, borrow pit and waste site locations. The project is intelligently analyzed to determine the optimum and most cost-effective earthmoving process. This gives contractors the complete picture of earthworks operations, allowing them to plan “what if” scenarios, offering specific volume and cost information before breaking ground on the project, and saving time and money through all phases of construction.
