Ont. budget includes $2B for highway construction

April 1, 2011 – Ontario’s 2011 budget will deliver nearly $13 billion in infrastructure spending for the upcoming year to help continue the province’s competitive job growth and productivity.

Dwight Duncan, Ontario’s finance minister, said that the 2010-11 deficit is projected to be $16.7 billion, approximately $3 billion lower than forecast a year ago. Improved infrastructure across various sectors strengthens the provincial economy by improving productivity, job creation and business competition, said Duncan, and that is what this last provincial Liberal budget before this fall’s election will do. | READ MORE
