N.S. highway overpass costs more than planned

Dec. 30, 2010 – A Nova Scotia highway overpass has ended up costing $6 million, about $2 million more than was budgeted under a federal-provincial infrastructure program.

The province will end up paying about $4 million for the Milford overpass project, since the federal share will not go up as the overall price does. Transportation Department spokeswoman Cathy MacIsaac says the overpass, which includes two new roundabouts, was necessary because the old highway bridge on Highway 102 was at the end of its life. | READ MORE
