Ready mix concrete gaining acceptance

Dec. 13, 2010 – Space constraint in cities, builders facing shorter deadlines, labour shortage and need for mechanisation, infrastructure growth and large scale constructions — these are some of the factors driving the use of Ready Mix Concrete. RMC, as it is often known, is finally coming into its own, says Mr Cristobal Lopez, vice-president, marketing, Lafarge Aggregates and Concrete.

In RMC, builders get the pre-mixed concrete of the required specification delivered at the construction site. “It is much like getting your pizza or dosa batter delivered to your home,” says Mr Lopez.

Conventionally, builders have opted for on-site mix rather than RMC , but with the changing market RMC usage is on the increase. | READ MORE
