Efficiency could save U.K. 38M tonnes of materials

Nov. 10, 2010 – U.K. firms could save 38 million tonnes of scarce materials each year by embracing "quick-win" efficiency measures, according to new study released yesterday by the government-backed Waste Resources Action Programme (WRAP).

Published at the launch of WRAP's annual conference, the research recommends 13 resource efficiency measures that would slash consumption of increasingly rare materials, including iron ore and steel, wood and pulp products, plastics, fertilisers, aggregates, aluminium, gypsum and plaster products, copper and rare earth metals such as cobalt and lithium. | READ MORE
