Report studies Ontario aggregates
Sept. 3, 2010 – The State of the Aggregate Resource in Ontario Study is an extensive and intensive look at the industry, its markets, and future reserves by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources. Working with a variety of consultants and industry sources, the authors have created a series of reports totalling over 1,400 pages, as well as a consolidated report, outlining:

Trends in aggregate consumption in Ontario
  • Future Aggregate Availability and Alternatives Analysis – Examines constraints, alternative sources, and alternative means of transportation
  • The Value of Aggregates - Investigates the economic, social and environmental value of aggregates Reuse and Recycling – The status of aggregate reuse and recycling in the province, and how tracking recycling can be improved
  • Aggregate Reserves in Existing Operations – The abundance and availability of limestone/dolostone reserves, and how to maximize their use
  • Rehabilitation – Assessing the status of rehabilitation of pits and quarries in Ontario
  • Aggregate Resource Advisory Committee Consensus Recommendations to the Minister of Natural Resources – consensus recommendations developed by a committee made up of representatives from stakeholder organizations.
