Lafarge appoints president & CEOs for Canadian operations
March 27, 2012, Calgary, Toronto – René Thibault and Bob Cartmel have been appointed by the Lafarge Group as its senior leaders for all markets and product lines in Canada. Mr. Thibault will oversee the 4 Western Provinces and 3 Territories as well as the Pacific Northwest and Dakotas in the U.S. Mr. Cartmel will oversee the 6 Eastern Provinces.

Pan Pacific Aggregates names new director

Housing starts up in February again
March 8, 2012, Ottawa - The seasonally adjusted annual rate of housing starts was 201,100 units in February, according to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC). This is up from 198,100 units in January.
