September Housing Starts
Oct. 8, 2010, Ottawa — The seasonally adjusted annual rate1 of housing
starts was 186,400 units in September, according to Canada Mortgage and
Housing Corporation (CMHC).
Employment picking up in southwestern Ontario
Oct. 6, 2010 – The major cities in southwestern Ontario along
Highway 401 and Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) corridors leading to the U.S.
have a combined population of 8.6 million people. That’s almost exactly
25%, or one quarter, of the nation’s total.
Trucking best management practices (BMPs)
Oct. 1, 2010 – The Aggregate Producers Association of BC recently
published its Trucking Best Management Practices (BMPs) Handbook.
Plant manager joins Lafarge Joppa Cement
Oct. 1, 2010, Joppa, Ill. – Lafarge North America’s subsidiary, Lafarge
Midwest Inc. recently appointed Michael Klenk as the new Plant Manager
at its Joppa, Illinois cement facility. Klenk replaces Devendra Mody,
who accepted another position with the Lafarge Group in Europe.
